What exactly is the difference between a GT and a GT-S? I didn't even know the GT-S existed until I was browsing around the forum and people had GT-S under their aliases.
the GT-S is available in Canada, no different than the GT in the US

GTS was only available in Canada I believe. Its a GT with a sport package. The sport package has standard what is usually options on the GT model. Sport bucket seats for driver and passenger. Alloy rims. GTS emblems. Spoiler. no performance differences.
I'm not sure what the difference is... but it sounds fast!

Well now that I read Batman's post, I guess it isn't fast. Lol. >wink.gif>

In 1971, Toyota introduced the Celica in the US. Since then, the Celica has progressed, gradually becoming better and better. In October 8th, 1993, Toyota publicly unveiled the new sixth generation Celica. The sixth generation Celica featured strikingly beautiful curves, somewhat resembling the Celica's big brother, the Supra. The US only saw two models of the sixth generation Celica, the 1.8 liter 7A-FE powerd ST and the 2.2 liter 5S-FE powered GT. Gone were the mighty All-Trac and the GT-S. Canada recieved the GT-S in addition to the two other configurations.

If anyone needs interior stuff, etc, I'm parting whats left of my celi out. Just ask.
So Canada received both the GT and the GT-S, and the GT-S is just a GT with all the options coming standard... Thanks!

Well not all the options... I've got a GT-S without leather or a sunroof.
I have the GT with the sports suspension package. I incorrectly call it a GT-s all the time, but explain why I can it that. If you do a search you can find out what all was in the sports supsenion package, or ss. I guess I could call it a Celica SS. But that's even worse than GT-s I think.

alloy rims and spoiler are standard on all GTs

we all know that GT stands for grand touring, and GT-S stands for grand touring sport. After seeing that some GT-S guys don't have all the "sport" options, I would assume that maybe the canadian GT-S is a GT that has the sport suspension ???

can any GT-S guys verify if they have the sport suspension package (which utilizes special shock absorbers with two-stage valves, which give the car better dampening force for better handling stability) ???

According to the title, my car is a GT/GTS. I don't have leather seats. A guy where I work has a GT. Our cars seem to be exactly the same. We can't find a difference and no one has been able to find a difference. His title lists his car sa a GT.
