Momo racing shoes - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #26874 27 posts Started by Illyont
Okey, so my new racing shoes arrived today. Shiny Momo red, just like my Celica >smile.gif> 215$ US and 10 days worth of waiting, was it worth it? Yes!

They feel really good on the foot, and pedal control is soo much better than regular shoes. Just don't use them for regular walking or anything, cause they are kinda hard and not very comfy if walking on gravel or dirt.. Or anything really. But to drive in a car, they are GOOD!

Pictures coming later >smile.gif>
Are you racing in them or are you spending that much to just drive around in?

Well whatever floats your boat I guess. I personally dont have cash to buy a pair of very expensive shoes that I cant wear outside the car.

2 pairs of socks??? Are you trying to weigh the car down or WHAT?
it was for those who don't want the good doctor touching their bare feet!
GOSH!!!!
I'm getting pictures today >smile.gif> At work now so no can do.. Atleast it would have to be with my phone camera.. Oh well, you can wait 6 hours, I'm sure.

EDIT: Yeah, like CoSo said. What's with the bad attitude? >smile.gif> It's my money, so stop whining guys. And Amy.. Those shoes do things you can only dream of >tongue.gif> j/k.. But really guys. 200$ isn't that much. I earn more than that in one day at work. I didn't order the authentic Veilside kit because I was poor and could have gotten a replica for 1/10 of the cost.. I ordered it because I have the money for it, and I appreciate the real thing. The same with shoes. I don't want used and stolen bowling shoes, or some noname 20$ shoes. Or some homemade stuff. I wanted brand name shoes, so I got them. Now let me use my money! >wink.gif>

EDIT 2: After doing some math on the subject I found out that my Veilside styling alone cost the same as 1/4 of a used Supra TT (with 80k miles on it) >wink.gif> Now THAT pissed me off a bit, but I'm getting a Supra sooner or later anyway.. Just need to gain a couple of years, so my insurrance goes down (we start at 20% off in Norway, and I currently are halfway to 40%.. In 1-2 years I have almost 60% so that should enable me to get a Supra TT without any higher insurrance than my Celi have right now).

I want some Ferrari shoes and matching gloves... and no, I'm not joking... I spend a ****load of time driving, just because I love to drive. Its how I relax. Plus, like he said, its his cash. If he wants to buy $200 shoes, let him. I wanted a $100 Rey Mysterio Jr mask so I bought it.

I do wanna see pictures though.

for those who complain: you guys spend around 100 bucks on short throw shifters and light racing pedels. Why not go with another 200 bucks and get some shoes to compliment the shifting performance?

Do you think momo will sell just the right shoe for $108 for the people who own automatics? j/k

i want pictures also!
When we are talking about spending (throwing away) money.. I just got a call from the company who had my order for the Veilside bodykit.. After more than 3 months (I think it's more like 4 now) they have canceled my order, and I'm getting a complete refund.

That means, no Veilside kit for me.. Those were the only guys so far I have found in Norway that could get the real thing from Japan.

This also means I got 1/4 of the money for a Supra >wink.gif> So I'm kinda happy anyways. If I sell my car right away I can get enough money to buy atleast a 96' Supra TT with low milage and a 6 speed manual transmission (I still won't have money to pay the taxes, so I can't use the car anyway before those are payed for).

I also have a bit left on my loan (used to buy the Celica in the first place). I might just keep the Celi stock and save everything I got for the Supra.. What would you guys do? Spend on the Celi, or save for the Supra? If I decide to go for the Supra I won't get back any money spent on the Celica anyway (JDM tails and low/highs, bodykits etc), so that would be wasted money if I'm not keeping the car..

*sigh* decisions... (I'm home and can upload pictures of the shoes in another hour though) >smile.gif>
IMO, don't get the Supra if you can't comfortably pay for it.. I'd start with minor mods to the Celica, see how you feel about that. If you decide to stick with it, you've already got the basic stuff out of the way. If you don't, it's not a big loss.

Comfortably pay for it? What does that mean? I don't have enough money in my pocket right now to pay for the car.. That doesn't mean I can't pay for it.. Also, if you read my post I'm talking about in a year or two. So if I save some money in the next two years I can buy one without problems.. How is that not comfortably?

And if I'm not gonna keep the Celica, every mod I pay for would be cash out the window when I turn around to sell it. If I save money for a Supra and decides to keep the Celica after 1-2 years, then I can just use my saved up money and buy lots of mods.. Anyway, I was asking for opinions, and this was yours. So thanks >smile.gif>
those shoes must be comfortable. are these the ones you bought?
