So I did some electrical work... - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #26223 14 posts Started by Cutrara
I bought 50 LEDs off of eBay for $5. I drilled into my headlights from above and glued them in. 2 circuits: High beams and low beams. 2 LEDs per headlight, 4 per circuit, so they get 3 volts each, no resistors needed.

They look 5x better in real life. I like to drive with the High Beam ones on to show off the 6GC headlights at night.

I also installed a power antenna, and I decided I needed a place to put all my switches for the High and Low Beam LEDs, Power Antenna and some spares.

So I made this switch panel.

haha, thats cool, but is that hot glue holding the wires to the switches?

For the best designs and screen printing.WE DON'T PRINT UGLY.www.TERZink.com
They're soldered, I'm just a freak when it comes to insulation.

nice... but isnt 3 volts each kinda high for led's.. most of them have a max voltage of 2.5.

Hayno, not blue ones... they've got higher power use..

If anyone needs interior stuff, etc, I'm parting whats left of my celi out. Just ask.
Nice work. That looks nice. What do all the switches do?

Is that hot glue for insulation? You might want to consider something else, like silicone or liquid electrical tape. Hot glue can melt in the summer heat and get brittle and crack during cold winters.

New Toyota project coming soon...
Yeah, what do all the switches do? And where exactly did u drill into ur headlights?
The first one is for my power antenna, the second is for the low beam LEDs, third for high beam LEDs, the fourth will be for some interior lights and the fifth is a spare.

I drilled from the top, but more to the sides so its not real noticible.

I didn't know about the hot glue, maybe I'll try something else if I start having problems. Thanks! >smile.gif>

nice phone - i got the same one.(one of the pictures)

the 1/4 doesnt have patience for a ST.... so we make them ST-T's so atleast we'll sound good going slow.
Haha thanks!

What kind of material is that(The white piece)? Is that plastic im guessing. And did u just spray paint it or something? Thanks man. peace. -john
It's plexiglass, but I sanded it so paint will stick better.

nice work looks clean, one thing to watch out for is driving with blue/red lights on can score you a ticket for impersanating a cop.

DTE

I am a thief.do not buy anything from me.
I'll keep that in mind, but I don't think any of the cops around here would care, they aren't bright enough to be mistaken for a cop car. But regardless, if I get stopped, no more driving with them on.
