there was an episode of pimp my ride where there was a green 6gen parked in the background near the end of the show...there was also an episode of punk'd (i think it was jadakiss) with a black 6gen, clear front shot at a city street >

I would never put my car on that show. They would make look stupid. They would put an ugly two tone paint job with tribal graphics. Mad Mike would put like 6 TV's and a ice cream maker. They would also put a toliet in it.The only thing that i would like would be the stereo system. Please MTV DONT PIMP MY RIDE.

well the show isnt called "make my ride fast" or "make it JDM" or "Straight JDM TIGHT YO!"
its pimp my ride and the main reason to pimp a car is to make it a one of a kind unique car. its the type of car you can see from 2 miles away and tell who it is because no one else has the same thing that you do. you guys ever seen a pimp? always wearing a crazy ass hat and suit that just makes him a completely unique person.
then again i would never let mtv pimp my ride >

"On this episode we's gonna pimp us out a Celica this a ta-eyete car that was based on the Supra. We's is goin put on some 22" Ashanti alligator wheels and bag it bop, bop, bop and drop. We's is goin to adds a 20" plasma screen in the back glass, and under neath we'll make put grill with a mini fridge so that when they have a liftgate party they can have somethin to grub on. We can forget that since this car didn't have much power to begin wit we need to up it so it can handle the 1,000 lbs. worth of Durabrand stereo equipment so we's addin a Weapon R intake and a street racer muffler to give it that extra kick. To top it all of we'll paint it wit a burblornge red, now that's blue, purple, and orange added to red to give it that classic doo doo brown look. Since this car is an import we'll slap West Coast Customs stickers all over it. Alright we's just pimped the Celica, tune in next week when we's adding a waterbed and sauna room in a Mini Cooper."
One week later the car was vandalized and all the electronics were stolen, the grill was smashed and the wheels were also stolen, thanks MTV for making me a target for thieves.

they did a old maxima wagon the other day. First car I have ever seen them do that really came out ok. If I remeber correctly that is... I cant seem to find a pic on the web...

the only one i really liked was when they did the bmw conversion it didn't look very "pimped" with all the flames and crayzee colors it juss looked clean.
Yea I hate to say it too, but that friggin' Ford Escort with the BMW conversion was the cleanest car they've done since....ever. And thats pretty sad since its an ESCORT. Now if it was one of those Cosworth Escorts, then I'd feel differently.

I agree about the Escort, that rain sensor looked very useful.
They don't pimp out nice cars, like 6th gens. They pimp out hoopties and beaters and ****boxes and whatever other negative car term you know of. I respect the show for doing some crazy **** to cars. In my personal oppinion, they shouldn't be pimping out cars that people have damn near demolished by their own right.
I used to have a 4th gen Celica that I tried to submit to the show but you gotta be a Cali resident. Bull****, I say. lol. But yeah, I enjoy the show for the custom work they do. Its not about performance... That's why we have magazines. :-P. As far as becoming a target for theives, I have always wondered what happened to those cars. I'd like to see some follow up shows where they show the cars now.
As far as Celicas on tv, in the Nke commercial where they had all them people on that basketball players back while he was walking on the streets, there was a white 92-93 Celica driving by. It warmed my heart.
