I got a 5sfe tranny on a 3sgte that has 26 spline on it instead of 23. I think I have a 88-89 tranny does this means that its more beefer than the newer tranny?

What are you talking about here? Did you just buy a 3sgte? Have you tried putting the tranny on the engine yet? More details.
I don't think there will be much difference in strength between the two.

Yes, the tranny is on the enigne. just that the regular axles that hooks to the tranny have 23 and the tranny I have has 26. I went today to buy an axle that fits but now the end that hooks to the hub is to big.

I think that they gave you axles for a celica st. This happened to me.
