boost controller - 6G Celicas Forums

Eh, save the money for that MBC.

Either get an EBC or a normal MBC. You generally don't need to switch on the fly - and I like my MBC a lot more than the old profec.

If anyone needs interior stuff, etc, I'm parting whats left of my celi out. Just ask.
thats the thing i don't wanna have to get out to adjust the boost controller
its either electrontic boost controller with two settings or
get this one and flick a switch
I say EBC. Its a very nice feature and, quite frankly, the good ones work better than ANY mbc.

i know i hate getting out of my car, turning a knob, then trying to find a highway where i can get my car into 4th or 5th gear just to find out that i turned the mbc to 16psi instead of the 15 i wanted. an ebc will be my future upgrade!

i loved my PROFEC E-01 just dail it in from the seat help alot on the dyno too EBC is what i'm doing again

yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte
ok seems to be the way to go

profec e-01!
those are very nice boost controlers, but i would never spend 500$ just for something like that. im kind of thinking of getting the profec b sepc 2

15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
well i have to run a piggy back system as well
so the greddy e-manager has to come into the car
so i figure using the e-01 would prove the best benefit

man playr you missed out on a good deal when i sold my profec e-o1 and e-manage i went for $660 on ebay

yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte
yea i know
well actually the boost controller i had in mine is that one at the top since all you need to do is flip a switch to go between high boost and low boost.....

right now i have a slowboy MBC so 1 boost level for now
itchy....
can you explain how that one works
it seams different then the turboxs and
you have a personal experience with this one

how does your friend have it setup?
what are his boost settings?
wastegate setting?
its the same idea as the 1st one you posted. just not as cool looking. 2 mbc with some type of electronic valve that lets the air got to one mbc or the other.

15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
I highly recommend the GReddy Profec-B Spec 2. I have it in my Celica and it is accurate and responsive...it has never spiked on me. I have also used it on my Supra and I have ran it over 27 PSI...no spikes or surges. That boost controller is mint and too easy to use. Pretty much all the guys back home running 10s and 9s in the quarter use it. You can get it on eBay now for $274...you CANNOT beat that from the $320 it was a few months ago. And if you OVERPAY for the $120 wireless remote switch, you'll be having a BLAST switching from lo to hi boost, haha. It feels like activating nitrous...it is great, LOL.

right now hes got a 300hp se-r with a jdm sr20det swap. running high 11's i ran a 12.2 with him. its so good. he runs 10psi daily with that mbc then races at 18psi. oobe said it. it feels like nitrous.

OOBE ... the only bad thing i hear about them is that they are a major pain to setup. was yours hard? it has stuff like...set, gain, ratio, etc..a pain from what i hear.

15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
I have a Joe P MBC with no known spiking. Ball & spring, works great, dont need the expensive stuff because I am getting a piggy back that controls that.

What are you talking about, my brother? It is a JOKE to setup. Seriously...whoever thinks it is hard should not even be allowed in a turbo car, LOL. The GAIN is like the boost response...for each engine, it is different..and it changes with the type of turbo...so you have to play with it, you know. The SET is the boost pressure above your minimum wastegate spring...so if you have a 9 PSI spring, 50 would be 14 PSI. Then you have LIMITER, which lowers the boost to what you choose if you hit the WARNING boost level. I have read so many complaints about it being hard to setup and whatever. Yeah, OK...I installed it, set the GAIN to 25...if you set it too high, it'll creep and if you set it too low, it doesn't spool up as fast. Then, I put the SET to 40 and I was done...hitting 8 PSI...because my Tial spring is 4 PSI.
