PROBLEM! - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #2420 8 posts Started by CelicaRacer94

I have a fear that something really bad is going on in my '94 Celica GT. A month and a half ago, it was involved in a front end collision. Not hard enough to mess up the frame or do any damage to the engine block, or radiator, or anything else under the hood, but hard enough to set off the airbags. (I put that there incase that might have something to do with this). Since then, when I get up to the higher speeds, 85+ mph, my car starts to vibrate and shake; a little at first but as I press closer to 100 mph, it starts to shake REALLY bad. Before it was in the wreck, it did not do this. Does anyone have any idea what might be happening; what is causing this?? >confused.gif>
you may check if a wheel is heavily damaged or maybe you've simply to readjust the camber angle and requilibrate the wheels...try to check your shocks and wheels and look if there are some visble damages >wink.gif>
your alignment is prolly off....or a wheel could be out of balance,....hope its somthing simple like that..

all those things are right

and yea hopefully it is something simple as alignment
Don't drive that fast then, j/k >wink.gif> It sounds like you have a bent wheel, possibly something in the suspension bent, but as likely. Take it to a shop and have them balance your tires and align it >wink.gif>
I posted i topic like this like 2 months ago and their is some more ideas that i cant remember in that post. And if ya look there might be some helpful ideas that people posted. By the way i have the same problem but mines at 65. And i havent had luck with balancing or alingment..but thats just me..theres bunches of different things that could be wrong...Oh yeah, the topic I posted was called 'shaking steering wheel'...good luck! >smile.gif>

Could it be the CV joints? my old telstar (89) used to do this when it got up around 130Km/h...
I replied to the "shaking steering wheel" topic a couple of months ago because I had the problem when I drove over 80. I just found out that I REALLY need a wheel balance, and new CV joints.
