after removing the black tape from all the wires... the orange and yellow had speaker wire attached.. so im guessing this was for the speakers.. the other wires im not sure about... but i am sure that the big black and red wires are ground and battery... the red is for the battery(even had corrosion on it)...
any help or info is appreciated guys. LaTeR

we are left with these wires to deal with

white------------?
green-----------?
orange---speaker
blue--------I think it is the remote wire to turn on the amp
yellow----speaker

my advice: dont hook it up.....a headunit can produce more amplification than that POS
Head units give out like 17 watts rms max before they start to clip, and at fairly high distortion levels. Those old amps are usually rated very conservatively, and will sound better than running speakers off your HU.
that amp is 30x2 @4OHm. now i dunno if its RMS or max wattage. but a HU can produce 19x4 @4ohms. 19x4= 76w. comepared to that amps 60w, thats IF thats RMS. not only that but old school amps have massive distortion levels
You wont notice that 16w difference. Besides, he would only be running two speakers off of it, not 4. Im going to have to disagree about old amps and massive distortion levels. Alot of older equipment is MUCH better than what manufacturers put out today, and Autotek is not an exclusion. One thing i would be worried about is whether or not you will be able to set the gain correctly. That amp might not be able to take 4volts, or even 2. I would try hooking up the power and ground, and put a 12 volt source on the other 3 wires to see which one powers up the amp. Then you would just need to make sure the speakers are in phase.
thats like saying DOS is better than windows
No, its not. You're wrong. You gave your advice, im giving mine. Im not going to reply to this thread again unless theres something else i can respond to thats worthwhile. Stay on topic.
