I'm thinking about getting a new motherboard and processor this summer, and I was thinking about goin all the way and getting SLI, since it's twice as good as AGP, but I heard that SLI isnt compatible w/ all games yet, so I dont want to get expensive hardware that cant run games to its full potential, but I cant remember if that's true or not. What do yall think?

It's not just about getting from point A to point B anymore....
umm ive havent been a fan of AMD lately, used to love their processors but then i got a p4 and to me its better.
i dunno about that processor and board you are talking about the SLI so i have no imput.
Geforce 6800 is a good choice, im running a 5900 ultra OCed and i love this thing to death.
hows it taste motha f*cka
wait a little bit... the intel 64bit processors are just coming out. the new P4 6xx series is going to be 64bit and will blow the AMD's away. pci-x > SLI right now anyway.
Both AMD and Intel are good, AMD is better for data transfer and check any the test between AMD and Intel, with a lower speed processor they could outrun and Intel. AMD is also a lot cheaper, Intel on the other hand has less speed but more overall power. Basically if it's a gaming PC go for Intel, but if you are doing a lot of web surfing, picture editing or music I would go for AMD. I have a few PC's: 1 with an AMD 1300 Duron, 1 with a 1.7 P4, 1 with a 2200+ AMD Athlon, and 1 with a 3100 Sempron. I prefer the 2200+ over the rest (excluding the Sempron). I use it to run Halo online cause i'm to cheap to get an X-Box.
I work in a computer repair shop and deal with both amd and intel. AMD in benchmarks does FINE amd wins some, intel wins some, amd wins some games, intel wins some games. Intels 64 bit is not gona be great... the 64 bit windows xp being betad right now does not support intel processors, it hasnt even been betad so its gona have FAR more bugs then AMD 64 processors. PCI express is the way to go for game card sockets right now by the way.
