well, if any of you had not noticed, ive been absent from the site since thursday. a monster ice storm ripped through my neighborhood late thursday early friday crippling our power and traffic was at a standstill. on top of that it continued to snow sleet and more freezing rain all the way untill today, tuesday. sunday i was in a head-on collision while rideing with my mom in our saturn L300, luckly we are ok, i have a really sore lower back and my moms neck is sore but we're doin fine. My car has been on house arrest by the burch tree leaning across the garage door, not allowing me to get the car out, not that id really want to with the weather. so all in all not a fun weekend, however i have had a 6 day weekend, including tomorrow, which theyve already canceled school.

now for the gift part: i now have in my hand the 1st prototype of the dragon emblem!! it looks amazing, unfortunatly b/c of the power problems, my digicam is dead, so tomorrow i will have some pics up, and i may be able to scan some pics from the storm for you guys. it was an amazing/horrifying/(whatever other adjective you want to use) weekend.

But I have a question, and i've searched through the forum for the answer, but to no avail. How does the Celica and the dragon go together, whats the link? I just think i should kno why i would be putting on something like that before i actually do it.

I think that the dragon emblem was once the logo of a first generation celica but was later changed to the just the Toyota logo which you have now. Am i correct or way off? >>

The Celica is named after the witch Sarina who rode a dragon.
A stylised dragon forms the Celica symbol.
The name "Sarina" is similar to the name "Carina" which was made on the same production line.
Celica is also a North European name meaning heavenly (celestrial).
Japanese say See-Lee-Ka.
Australians say See-Lee-Ka (also Silly Car).
Americans say Sell-i-Ka.

awsome info however japanese dont say "See-Lee-Ka", they say it "See-Ree-Ka" because the sound Lee is nonexistant, it just converts to a R. but awsome info nevertheless!

that blue pic is basically identical to the template i have in my hand, tomorrow (maybe tonight) im going to strip my toyota emblem off my front and heat and mold my template around it. once thats done, im sending the template back to my grandparents shop where it will be recast then we are ready for orders.

JUST FOR LEGALITY REASONS: these emblems, and anything else i sell ARE NOT AND WILL NOT be made or endorsed by Toyota corp. they should in no way be advertised otherwise. These parts will all be pure replicas and i will always advertise them as such. (regardless, the fitment will never be short of excellent!)

NOTE: they will be made of aluminum and the dragon itself will be polished, with the backround either being matte/brush finished or black. ALSO the first batch will only fit the front of the car due to the curvature, but once the front molds are cast i will get the template back and remold it for the rear and anywhere else you guys would be interested in putting it.

FINAL NOTE: no price has been set as of yet, they will be set when we find out the costs of the aluminum materials and the cost of polish finishing as well as brush and/or paint.

PS: unfortunatly my dad forgot to bring the digicam charger home so it wont be till tomorrow when i have the pics, sorry guys!

like in the pic of that blue emblem, the backround would be the small area that is black. thats what im talking about.

so how do u take off the oem front emblem anyways ?
i don't think heat gun would work
well either way i guess i have to be patient
