That means you probably have a bigger turbo than you need. Large Turbo takes more time for the vanes to spool up (build RPM) before boost it actually produced. What you need is to go a smaller similar version than that. >

=(
or go twin style

what setup are you running? 3sgtes barely have any lag at all. any small turbo will spool up almost instantly.

If you give it to me, and forward this post to ten people or more, you will have good luck for ten days!
i dont have a turbo yet i just orderd the 3sgte i shuld get it in a few weeks. i just wanted to know how to get ride of turbo lage when i get the engine
If the engine you're going to get is stock, you will not have turbo lag....You can expect it if you switch to a bigger turbo....

there is NO lag stock. only when you get up into the 400+ hp area, which costs a lot of $$, will you run into lag. serious upgrades will have to be done before it's an issue.

Go for a turbo with ceramic blades, it doesn't take as long
for the inertia to be overcome as with a steel bladed one, size is also a factor too

Squeeze some juice for no lag.
Improve air flow(i.e airfilter/exhaust/dp/elbow/...etc). That's all i could think of right now.

What you can also look at is the right Compressor to Turbine wheel size.

Try to get a turbo for a 2l engine or from a high power 1.8L car.
