SeaFoam - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #22678 14 posts Started by JoKeRkId613
After being referred by friends, posts here on the forum, and mechanics, I tried this SeaFoam stuff. My car has A LOT of miles and this thing works like a charm. Better throttle response, idling, etc. This stuff works. It's scary when you see all that smoke coming out, but then you stand back and say "wow, that's pretty cool". The engine bogs down a bit and mine shut off, but whatever, it still works. I took some pictures. I pretty much put the whole bottle in the throttle. I just disconnected my intake, and BAM. lol... Yes, I am currently running with a HONDA radiator. The reason being, my old one cracked so I'm waiting for the Koyo radiator to come in.

IN CONCLUSION, SEAFOAM WORKS AND I'D PUT IT IN MY CAR EVERYDAY IF I COULD!

well might just have to give this a try .... you can added everywhere right? (gas oil thortle) and after it shuts off u leave it off and then turn it on ? or right away?
what is seafoam used for? >confused.gif>
How many miles do you have that you used it? cause I have kinda high milage.. like 142k and im a lil concernd about using it..
seems that 150k or below seems to be the general rule. if your engine eats a lot of oil it could make the problem worse tho

Okay, well I don't know about high milage. I have 195,000 miles on my car. I'm the second owner. The first was the parts/service manager at a Toyota dealer's daughter's car. So the car was always being serviced and being kept mechanically good. I keep it in good condition too. So, mechanically, the car's a beast.

Qban537, after it shut off I just turned that bitch on right away. Lol. I had my friend helping me out since I was switching the radiator anyway. When I went to go buy the hoses, I saw the SeaFoam and decided to give it a shot. I don't know if you can add it everywhere. I heard you could. Sometime this week, I'm going to try it in the gas and all that, but I'm not so sure yet. I just poured the whole thing slowly in my throttle. The WHOLE bottle. Just don't shove it in there, pour it slowly with a funnel or something.

Like I said, I have 195k miles and my car, I swear, feels newer. Like it's running more efficiently. Better throttle response, better idling. I'm guessing it works. Defenitely feels different. I also got a temporary Honda radiator which is giving me an additional 20HP, so I'm excited about that. I don't know much about carbon deposits and all that other crap, but it seems to be working. SeaFoam is supposed to clean your engine.

Lol. Of course it's not sarcasm... I also just installed my S2000 antenna so I'm boosting about 10psi right now with that. Haha.
so that's the seafoam Deep Creep or the seafoam motor treatment??? which one, cos i use the seafoam Deep Creep and spray almost 2/3 bottle into the throttle Body.....not that much smoke come out....only a little.......

but this can only happen if you put seafoam in your oil not inyour throttle body? right?

interested in this too...
any part of the engine with carbon deposits could be a potential problem. if they are blocking a leak of some sort the seafoam will dislodge it and thereby create a bigger problem
