need help with hatchback area to stop rattling - 6G Celicas Forums
Well, you can use Dynamat, but only if you feel like wasting lots of money, because Dynamat is very expensive. I used 62.5 sq. ft. of RAAMmat60 (available at http://www.raamaudio.com and highly praised at http://www.elitecaraudio.com) in my car and it helped a lot. It's exactly the same as Dynamat Extreme, but doesn't have a Dynamat logo so therefore you save lots and lots of money.
Also, I've read that you can use trunk bed liner, expanding foam(like Great Stuff), and Peel and Seal(found at Lowes and Home Depot in the roofing supplies section) to sound deaden cars. Hope this helps. >

New Toyota project coming soon...
Do you mean Alpine Type-R's like mine?
The big panel along the back of the trunk, I took it off and it stopped rattling for the most part. When I turn the bass up, there will still be some bumper rattle, but thats only when the bass and the music is REALLY loud.

i used a door kit of dynamat and this pipe insulating stuff. i forget that the stuff is but its a thin foam strip and its sticky on one side. i put that inbetween where all the plastic meets the metal. between that and the dynamat it pretty much stopped all the rattleing. the bumped rattles if i have it cranked up be other than that it worked.
my car is metal to metal on the hatch back trunck peice so yeah the trunck is the only piece that is rattling i was thinking about using the carpet foam stuff for under the carpet of your house i was wondering if that stuff could work?
they make Alpine type E's they are exactly the same as the Type R cept they cant handle as much peak power....like 600 watts i think as compared to the 1000 peak of the Type R...heh I have the Type S sub in my car
yes my type E's are not bad considering how much i paid for 2 of them only 115 for both! dont know if anyone here could get that type of deal i got some hook ups here i am also getting my windows tinted for 20$ a window a buddy is hooking me up with this guy that does them at a shop he did them on my friends trucks and they look awesome anyhow anyone from northern sandiego and perhaps wants to spend 90 dollars for 5 windows done let me know....
