guys with the 5sfte. i was just wondering about the gas mileage. im saving up for my parts now, but im a high school student and money does not come by easy. im just wondering if there is a dramatic change in gas mileage. and about wut mileage would you say your getting now to before you were boosted. gas prices are pretty high, and i dont want to have a turbo charged car that i would not be able to drive.

If you don't have money, the easiest would be engine swap.. At least it's more easier to work with than turbocharging a NA engine..
And the whole gas mileage thing, you don't experience a huge decrease if you drive it normally and nice..

i dont mind all the labor and maintenance that would be required. like checking the plugs, and all that time under the hood and whatnot. just dont want to spend 2k or wutever on the turbo, then not be able to keep up with the gas.
its one of those things where you have to pay to play. you cant put regular 87 octain in there with the turbo, so even if you get good gas milage, you still be spending more on gas.

right now I get 21-25mpg, and run pretty rich.
Not to hijack his thread but I was wondering the same thing but about the 3s.
the 3s aint bad at all on gas milage. i didnt do the math yet, but i fill up once a week with 94 octain and it costs me about 20-25$ with todays high gas prices.

ohhh. well i already run 93 octange (highest in CA) so im used to that. erics thats pretty good mileage. how is your motor by the way? i read in another thread that it was dying out.
for milage on a 3s, look up the rated gas milage for a 90-93 alltrac, or even mr2 turbo, and it would be about the same.
also, where in CA did you find 93?

What I meanto send across is that you'll notice a decrease in fuel economy.. But it will be lot more, if you like to do WOT all the time like some stupid kids... And that's with any car..

Its still holding up. She runs great, and boosts like a champ. But my catch can fills up half way in like 3 or 4 weeks. LOL. So leakage is pretty bad I guess.
I got a warranty when I bought it, so I'm gonna pull the turbo to get back in manufactors spec, and get the engine swapped. Then put the turbo back on of course.

The all-trac won't be the same, its turning 4 wheels instead of 2. Its gonna use alot more gas. The mr2 may be close but I think it weighs less.

I didn't notice a change at all and i'm a daily driver. Every fill up i'm checking the miles. Around 25 is about right every time.
