My car was leaking oil and my dad took it to his mechanic friend. He says that the engine is leaking oil and the ATX is also leaking fluid. I figure that changing the oil gasket should solve the oil leak but the transmission? I checked the fluild level and it said that it was fine. Also that guy quoted that it would cost $2000 to fix both and would require 2 weeks to fix my car. I feel like this is a major rip off $2000 just to fix and oil leak and transmission leak? Couldnt I get a new transmission for that price? What should I do?
