What are the differences between the Group A or Carlos Sainz st185 3s-gte versus the Reg st185 3s-gte?
I know the water to air IC but what else?
What about the ECU's? any difference there?
edit: reason I ask is that I believe I have a reg st185 3s-gte but my ECU is from a carlos sainz edition. I would ask at celica.net, but its down.

would the RC model need the different AFM and a different MAP sensor?
no, you can use the RC/CS ecu with the reg ST185. It has higher boost cut and more aggressive fuel mapping. You dont need anything different. You'll actually get more power.

What about a ECU from GT4 use in ST185 3SGTE? more power?.. I am sure the one from Caldina will not work correct?
Sold my Celica....
You can use the ST205 ecu in the ST185, it'll require rewiring but you will also be able to ditch the AFM, more power I'm nont sure bout that. The ST215 ecu I have no idea bout.

I actually dont have a carlos sainz, but a group A.... anyone have any ideas what the difference there is?
none. Its just like the CS is the same as the RC, just names.

EL prototypes was saying that the group A engines came with an air IC, so they have to be a bit different
also, I have an extra ECU, same one.
There are cars with the A designation painted on the side that have an air to air intercooler. However, they are not true "Group A" cars. According to what I have read, the Group A, WRC and Carlos Sanz editions are identical.

Oh well I had to try - Group A's are water to air though - I recently was trying to buy the intercooler water pump from someone with a Group A.

see the wierd thing is ELP said some of the rally engines came with air/air. I am actually thinking that maybe I have the group A engine, just the IC was taken off an replaced with the air IC, so the place could sell the IC seperatly.
Then it doesnt matter - the only difference was the intercooler and ecu.
