some people really don’t know the difference between crank power and wheel power.

Civic kid: well I added a cat back exhaust and intake should be good for 35-40 horse.
Me: dude you probably are only getting 5-10 more to the crank
Civic kid: but the box said it adds 35-40 more horse

this happens alot to me people think they get so much HP from a intake or exhaust

Gt celica guy: ya I have 2.5L in my car
Me: no you have a 2.2L GT I only have a 1.8L ST
GT celica guy: no but you can get different pistons to make it a 2.5
ME: the same size bore piston wont change your liters I like the biggest bore kit they make is .2L they make it for 3sgte making it a 2.2L and that’s pushing it in our cars
GT celica guy: well my car can go 150mph

this guy says all this stuff with a straight face he also thinks he can put a 2jz motor in his celica gt. Dont get me started

no it would be like you telling me that your car was a true gt4 even after i look under the hood and see 2.2L 5sfe and going on to say its a rare gt4 only FF with a bigger motor and more power ( just an example)) >> >> >>

Yeah, I have to deal with people like that too a lot. It gets old, but sometimes you hear something really really stupid that you've never heard before.

I talked to a kid with fifth gen. Celica ST with rims and springs a while ago.

Me: Nice looking car...got anything done to the engine?
Him: Just exhaust and intake...got anything on yours?
Me: I've got a 20V 4A-GE that's pretty much stock
Him: Oh man! I've got that same engine...they pull hard huh?
Me: No, you've got the 4A-FE...that letter G makes a big difference.
Him: No man, they're all the same...it's only tiny differences like what car they came in...you wanna race or what?
Me: Nah, I'm not down with street racing

Kinda like an ex-GT owner I met at the gas station after I "beat" his CRX on the highway. He was all like, "You could have taken me by alot if it was a GT"

1. No I wasnt racing, but I did hear him downshift.

2. He thought I had the 1.8L when he saw me checking the oil on my ride and insisted that there was no 2.2L
Yet he claimed to be an ex-GT owner.

I can write a freakin book on this stuff... heheh...
