okay ive been reading in almost every thread about speaker size, that there is a 8" metal spacer that goes around a 6.75" speaker in our cars right? i opened my dfoor up today to find no metal ring, just a 6.75" plastic holder.
any idea why?

EDIT:sorry! just had a look, and i read the how to again, and realised what exactly the metal plate was, (i was expecting something bigger. not used to imperial units) can this thread be deleted or something?
