I have a 94 St and 1000 dollars to spend at the moment... ive already ordered a greddy sp catback for 430 w/ shipping... im not counting any installation here people.. just part costs.... if my math serves me right i have 570 left to throw at some mods ...... i need well thought out oppinions... and dont just tell me my engines crap and to drive my car off a mountain (heard that one before >> )

i would spend it all on a kick ass system since its pointless to do performance mods.

i wouldnt say its "pointless" to do performance, i would say it isnt exactly worth while and usually not worth the money unless you go for the whole 9 yards...

good place to spend 500 +/- bucks on a ST celica is in your suspension.

what kind of suspension are u talkin bout.. i have dropzone coilovers and kyb gr2 gas struts....... any other ideas

You could get sway bars and both strut tower bars with that money. Or you could almost buy some Koni Yellows.

i was thinkin about JDM tails and high and lowbeam JDM headlights .... how much would that run me ??????
then i was thinkin about diamond cut clear side-markers ..... any other oppinions??????

The JDM tails will run you anywhere from $150 to $400 or so(I think), and the JDM high and low beams are gonna cost you probably around $6-700 for all of them. And the clear side-markers aren't too bad. They're around $30-40 I believe.

You could get some side skirts...

why are the friggin headlights soo expensive.... this is tennessee for gods sakes... theyre not even gonna realize they're illegal..... why do they have to be soo high! >>

Save up for a new motor. If you can't wait then go with suspension upgrade.

im not really expecting to spend that much... 3s-gte complete swap ... with gt tranny and auto to manual conversion , gt engine mounts , importing the engine and getting installation will run up the tab way more than im willin to cover (plus i dont work .. till this summer.... im in school >> )..... thats a butt load of money to be spent ... guesstimated 3000 .... any other ideas

Now that doesn't include the installation of the clutch, but you said you didn't care about the installation costs. In my opinion, if i had 1G to spend i would do this if i could do the clutch install myself, or i would just save an extra $500 and get my 18" rims and tires for my car.

How do you know its the real tanabe? There is a lot of Tanabe Medalion look alike know days.

Don't matter if it's a look-alike or not. It has the same design which is a straight pipe so i doubt there is anything different between the 2 that is gonna make you loose 50hp.

Usually the look alikes are just less durable..rust easier and such

not for all things, my friend has a dual exhaust on his car, one side has a OBX muffler, the other is an OBX style muffler, the OBX one looks sweet and sounds pretty good (lil ricey for my taste but sounds performance oriented). while the OBX STLYE one looks like **** and sounds even worse. he bought the car like this and plans on fixing this as soon as he gets the money.

EDIT: sorry for the delayed reply, for suspension you could get some front and rear strut bars, lower frame brace, performance tires, upgrade the brake pads/rotors with a ST you could source out the parts and do a rear drum->disc conversion (some people say theres no point and it isnt that big of an upgrade but its all personal preference). stuff like that
