if i add the tag:

>TYPE="application/x-mplayer2">

into the <embed> tag on my own page...it'll play..but that doesn't solve the problem for other pages...

Tell me about it man, I can not get it to play quicktime videos for the life of me. That symbol shows up instead of the video so I press it, install the addon anddddddddd FVCK ALL!! Its still a cool program but little flaws like that just get on my nerves.
Can you give me an example? I've never had any problems with QT. Link me to pages you are having trouble with.

have you upgraded to the newest version of firefox? i know they fixed a lot of bugs. One came out about a week ago. try that.
Firefox is limited, what can you do.

you cant install the codec to play it because the install for quicktime is not ment for firefox, try finding a install program that is ment for it, or install it then figure out where the files went and putting them in the right locations.

Its not a codec, its the actual program that its not installing correctly.

Ive upgraded it a few times since Ive had firefox and never has it been able to play QT files.

Akimbo its every website with a streaming file in QT format, the most memorable would be www.gametrailers.com but they offer windows and apple format so its no biggy.

When I come to page that only has QT I just go to IE and load it there.
what you running for OS? When i was running 2000pro firefox did funkey stuff, now that i run XP pro, it seems to work fine. thats so strange, i have no QT problems...
