ok so saturday night i was just chillin at my boy's house when my friend challenges me to a race. he drives a 4 door saturn so i was like ok this will be no prob. so we get on the highway and go down to where it's 3 lanes across each way. there was a bit of traffic so we couldn't get next to each other so after a ways we turn around to go the other way and we got next to each other at a light. i started revin my engine and sh*t when he rolls down his window and points out a cop. so the light turns green and we just go like normal. we get up to the next light only this time there is a jetta vr6 that was all hooked up in between us. i looked around saw no cops so when the light turned we all took off(the jetta smoked us) the next thing i know we are braking for the light ahead of us when i hear a siren and those see wonderful flashing lights in my mirror. the cop pulled all three of us over (there just happened to be a nice little parking lot). he comes up to each of our windows and takes a lisence and reg. and ins. goes back to his car and starts writting. about half an hour later he comes back to the window and tells me to sign the ticket. (i was expecting a like 300 dollar fine.) i sign it then i read it its a 1000 dollar fine and 6 month suspension. i got f*cked my friend got the samething plus 100 bucks fornot having his lisc. on him. the moral of the story is don't street race. i guess i learned it the hard way and i hope you guys don't have too. hopefully when i got to court they will knock it down(i want everyone to say their prayers for me) sorry the story is so long i had to vent though.

That sucks man, but at least you learned your lesson. I used to street race back in the day when I was dumb, but now I no longer do because I realized how stupid it is and how dangerous and costly it can be.

sounds like your an idiot to me... scope out the place where your going to race, dont just roll up on some random light and gun it in the middle of the city... well i guess you have a couple months to think about it... sorry man... go to court see if you cant get it reduced. Good luck man

Maybe this isn't as bad but I got a 49 in a 35 speeding as well as uneccessary acceleration on my permit...i needed to pass a semi that was spitting rocks at me so it was kinda logical....and the cop said I'd prolly not get my license til I was 18. I went to court, by this time I had my license for the ticket was only in the court systems, and I got a lawyer (which cost a total of $675) and got to keep my license and be on "driving probation" for 6 months from the court date. So until July 23rd I'm on probation, but at least I can drive. Hopefully you can get the money together and get a lkawyer to file some nice papers for you. If you got caught in the same county you live in, then your lawyer should only have to write one paper to the county's attorney and just ask for a plea adjudication of 6 months...or 12 months if your lawyer thinks that will be better chance of getting it granted. I hope everything works out.

Just remember, street racing is fun, but only in areas where there is no people. Even if people come up to me and rev at me to race....I don';t. I wanna make sure no one's really around...and the worst is when they rev at me in school zones...I get pissed then. Just be careful and glad you learned your lesson.

but yah...diego probally haz the worse copz in the world (I bet surpassing LA). Shiet I'd been doin it b4 that dumb ass Fast 'n furious move came out...so dont think I jumped on that bandwagon. I do it rarely though...its hard to find a decent spot with no copz...but they're are sum. I waz gonna get out of dis shiet just cause of FnF over blowing "street racing's COOL, DO IT!"...type shiet. I kinda started to hate street racing cause of that...and the fact that foolz b gettin killed at the race's cause they can't race right...annn the fact that sum ppl bring guns. heh that really sucks man ive gotten caught for street racing but only got a 250 dollar fine not a suspension

man when i race someone we just role out of town to an old highway and just line up and do it there no cops no people just us. I don't like doin it in town even though i've done it before way to risky

If you want to race, do it on the autocross tracks where skill actually makes a difference, and you won't potentially kill people with your stupidity.

that sucks man. I'm feelin for ya. Maybe things will turn out ok.

a good way to save your asses from getting tickets when planning on racing some focker at a light would be, DONT SPIN!!!!! i see so many ppl just roasting em' off at a light when racing. if you think you can get away with that, youre crazy. thats like saying, "no mom, i am not gonna get herpes from the pretty $2 hooker." THEY'RE GONNA GETCHA GETCHA!!!! >>

Street racing is very dangerous...it is definitly an adrenaline rush and i love it. But if you are goin to do it, be somewhat safe about it. Go to a track or an old highway, (not in the middle of town). Its all fun and games until u almost get crushed.

I only race in an area in which I can see way up ahead. I know just about all of the popular spots for the cops to stake out since I deliver full time and see them all the time. I sure do think that street racing is fun but I'm very picky of where I do it and at what time of the day I do it.

the fact that people have to learn the hard way is pretty rediculus, you could rent out a small race track for a good 4 days for the ammount a street racing ticket costs. and an entrance fee into a drag strip is about the cost the gas is to get you there... people just need to think >>

my friend's dad is one of the highest ranking cops in our sheriffs department.

i get all the schedules of where the cops will be, and at night, they are extremely understaffed(i live in the 4th safest city in america)

if you are gonna race, go to an empty place and be smart about it
