350Z Interior Conversion - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #19276 23 posts Started by flipside97LTD
I really would like to redo my interior sometime in the distant future. I've seen the inside of the nissan 350Z and it has some very nice features. I'd like to fiberglass some of these pieces and custom fit them into my interior. Here's a link. On the link click on the 360 view of the interior to get an idea.

Nissan 350Z Interior

I like the shift boot assembly, the gauges in the dash, the speedometer (although i'll probably get doggy's >smile.gif> ) and the door handles.

So what are your thoughts? Has anyone seen any cool interiors or have any good ideas, or pictures?
it'd be amazing if you did it but its gonna take a lot of work. good luck tho if you do give it a try
I dont think it would be worth it. IMO it dosnt look so wounderful, i kinda like the celi's interior better then that, but it would be cool to custom work somthing sweet in there.
Do what you have to. It's definately an original idea. I'd like to see the pics when it's done, and the biuld up. It can be done to, I saw a guy who put a (I think) BMW dash (could have been some other nicer brand) into a Rabbit.

I think the hardest part would be brackets (that hold down the dash) and the climate controls, not sure if they would really be reworkable...

But if you really wanted to rework the climate controls I'm sure most cars work the same, atleast for stuff like the temp control.
I love the shifter assembly; I'll probably be trying something like that for mine
i always thought about changing some parts over to the 7th gen interrior. i wonder if the dash is the same size as as ours.

15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
I have seen some real cool stuff done with hotrods before. Look on the net for some pictures of concept cars interiors, and that might be the way to go. I noticed the trend now is spun aluminum instead of the carbon fiber craze of 5 years ago. You know i gotta do some whacky stuff to my interior once my exterior is done.
one more thing, I hate our steering wheels, but i think its important to keep the air bag. Wish we could do something with that. Maybe another toyota wheel like mr2, scion, etc
madmods... look at the steering wheel in my profile. the 98 wheels were much better, and is a possible upgrade for people.

That looks clean, Lagos, and your gauges and pods are clean. the 2000 celica might work. Gotta wonder how the airbag is wired. They got to be close though.

Yea my idea would be to just take the pieces that I really like a glass them into the car. I probably wouldn't try to convert the entire 350z interior over. I really like the inside door handles, but it would be tough to get the rods inside the door to connect to the lock and outside handle.

I agree. I think the next thing in tuner cars is gonna be more hot-rod'n. Like chopped tops and sectioned cars. Where's a good place to find concept car pics?

That's a good idea. I'm working on a scion at work right now. I'll check the steering wheel tommorrow and see. Great ideas though.

My real vision is to completely gut the interior. Dash, seats and trim, back seats, middle console, almost everything. Then completely redesign the inside using parts of the oem interior to shape the glass, and just molding in whatever parts i can find from whatever cars I like. ex. 350Z

I'd kinda like to make the middle console to be glassed and then extend towards the back area where the back seats would be and make a wall of ICE and neon.
Flipside, do a search on google.com for concept cars. There are some cool cars on there, and I downloaded a bunch of pics for ideals of my interior. thers a ton of sites.
Hey look at lar's profile, he has a TRD steering wheel with airbag... looks really nice.
flipside, look at the seats on the k1 attack or the konneig c1. I like those!
K1 Attack Kit is f****** insanely cool, ive been considering getting a loan for one. buidling it and selling it.
I looked at some Scion steering wheels and eh... it's not much more custom looking than keeping it stock. I think what I'd do is buy an aftermarket cool looking steering wheel with no airbag and all, and just make the car a show car. Because I don't think I'd be able to do anything truly custom on the inside and still be able to drive it legally.

I think some of the features in there are awesome. I like the grey suede, The gauges in the middle console, and basically the whole flow of the interior.
Flipside, you out there? Anything new on this topic?
