Any one done or had problems with this? I can't see why but just need to ask before I do something stupid.
Painting calipers? - 6G Celicas Forums
I just bought caliper paint and put my car up on jacks. Tape off what I didnt want painted and now they look great.
Just make sure that they are clean. If they're not, then the paint will chip off. Take your time on painting. I know that you'll want it done fast so you can show it off, but take your time. 2-3 light coats of caliper paint will be enough.
yeah def make sure its clean i sprayed mine with brake clean to get the major durt off then hit them with the electric sander real quick. after that yeah a few coats of caliper or high temp engine paint will do the job. You can see pics of mine in my profile.
yeah i used some painting prep, and brake cleaner on mine., then sanded the dirt that turned out fine.
can the actual paint disc be painted,, probably a stupid question, im thinking no, but how can i get them all nice and shiny again..

Nope, they can't be painted.
You could get new rotors, or maybe get them turned(but it makes them weaker, and I'm not sure if it makes them shiny again.)

I painted mine with normal paint thats ment for metal... (not lowest quality tho)
at first i cleaned calibers very well and then gave few coats of base paint and then actual color (orange in my case)
it hasnt been chipped or anything else.. just like painted yesterday.
been thru summer and half winter now.

I would have them powder coated.
I just sprayed mine. No hi temp paint, just rattle can. I didn't clean em first either. But I used black so you don't have to worry nearly as much

You first need to clean them a bit. the easiest way to do it is to get cloth with some gas on it and thats it. I tried to get my car on jacks the other day to do mine but i dropped one tyre and messed up one of my brand new O.Z. rims. i was so upset i put everything back and left. The next day i painted them in "russian red" with a high temp paint using a small painting brush. result was o.k.
