Just curious if anyone knows where to get a cover for under the hood. If you look at Chucho's pics, under his hood he has a black cover thing that hides all the reinforcements and stuff. Anybody know??

Hey Flip, you car has a working scoop right? Why would you want it? Also, that pad holds in massive heat. Mines comming off once I begin the work on my hood.

its there to reduce noise levels i think
It's there to reduce noise and keep the heat off the hood. Sorta to preverse the paint. I hated mine so I took it off. They look tacky IMO. I talked to my auto tech teacher and he said he always tore his off since he was 16. No issues yet. And he had V8's which are a hotter

Well Ti I may just do that. Actually my hood is black so I wouldn't have to repaint it.
It's not only for heat and noise reduction, its also designed to come apart when it comes in contact with fire.
It shreds itself and falls down to suffocate any engine fire,
Think of it like a fire blanket on steroids

Well i used thermotec because i wanted to remove it. now the engine breathes a lot easier and the hood doesn't get hot either. so far it sticks under the hood with absolutely no problems.

Well I'm leaving in about an hour to go spray all the jams the candy orange. After that the car's going to the painter!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!! I think I'll just go with keeping it black, cuz I'm leaving the engine bay black too.
