MAn i just had to vent about the cup holders i hate where they are located. It just annoying!! >mad.gif> ANy of you feel the same way?
yea, it gets in the way of shifting.....also can't open the armrest compartment when its out... >frown.gif>
i was just telling my girl that the other that one of the few things i that hate about me car. i was thinking about making some cupholder that slide out of the center consel on to the passenger side i just have to find a way to cut and install and make it look smooth.

Yeah I hate them also. But when Im drinking out of a bottle I just put it in between the door and the seat. As for the other stuff I put my drink in the holders and make my passengers hold theirs.
Bryan
yea i make my passengers hold their drinks too, but when i make a run to BK by myself i have to put my drinks in a milk box i have in the trunk.

I actually like the cupholders. I like how they can be hidden, and I don't like it when cars have cupholders that are permanently there. They do get in the way when shifting, but it's not that hard to shift when there's stuff in the cupholders.

New Toyota project coming soon...
I hate the cupholder so much that I took it out. That way I don't get pissed off with it when its out and in use... or not.
I gave up using the factory fitted cupholder, my girl does the
job just aswell, only problem is there might not be any drink left if she's feeling thirsty.. >biggrin.gif>
I agree with Coomer... I like the cup holder alot even though they do get in the way of shifting there nice on long trips

99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =)
They're pretty bad for shifting so I put my drinks in the center console , works pretty well
i don't like where it is either...i almost knocked my cup over trying to shift one day...but if i'm riding with someone else i just make them hold it.
I hate the location of them....thankfully my car shifts so smooth I can just sit my hand there and go through the gears with just my wrist.

why would you take your cupholder out? >confused.gif> If you don't like it, just don't pull it out.
I find the cup holder particularly useful....especially on long motorway journeys where you're not shifting up and down.
I actually have a custom gearknob which in fact sits about ½" or so higher than standard and therefore makes shifting easier. >tongue.gif>
Yer OK it's not the best place to situate it...but where else can it go? >confused.gif>
The glove box - well even at over 6' I could not reach that far while driving. >frown.gif>
Centre console - may end up with the same shifting problem. >rolleyes.gif>

Leave it where it is and extend the gear knob >biggrin.gif>
Ya i hate the placement...if i take somebody out and we get some drinks and they ask where my cupholder is "ohh, ya sorry, i don't have a cupholder, btw- can u hold my drink?". Haha works everytime.
heh if i havent pulled that one befor.... damn kids will believe anything these days....go ahead smoke it, it wont turn up on the test.. muahahahah
