there is a swtich i believe in the tranny somewhere that make the reverse lights go on i'm not sure if it's easily accesible
yeah i have heard of it too but its inside the trans,
i have the same problem... im auto tho
i guess im not the only one... but we still havent fixed the problem yet... i don't think it matters if its stick or auto.
i changed my fuse and got new bulbs.. they dont light up.. i even checked the wiring.. weirdness.. i guess its a common Celica problem??
Ya its most likely the switch on your tranny, if its not the bulbs that is. I had that prob on my first car and just had the switch replaced
Ditto on that problem... sounds like a pita

i finally got the problem fixed... it was the switch on the tranny.. its next to the tranny ground. the part cost was a little over 30.00 bucks and all i had to do was unbolt it and put the new one in. real easy. to test if its the switch use a jumper wire to to activate the the lights on the plug. than put it in reverse, if it goes on than its the switch. hope this helps.
What is the switch called and what is the part # ?

The switch I believe is call a "neutral switch", but i don't know what the part # is..... sorry >frown.gif>
