when driving home today hurt some noise coming from under the hood. stopped the car and find the rubber thing hanging out and under the car I found my spark plug. does any one know why this happened. or was the plug just got loose and shot out?

I havent touch them ever since i got the car like a year ago. I just stuck it back in and it seems ok. Gonna bring it to the shop later today. and what do you mean cross threaded?

im assuming this is not a major problem. It just scared the **** of me when i starting hearing stuff under my hood.

probably just wasn't tightened enough by the last person that put them in.
will it damage my car if i drive with one of the spark plugs out

same thing happened to me. i put fuel injector cleaner in my car and then like 4 days later my car ran on like 1 cylinder i'm like what the hell so i took the spark plugs out and there were no electrodes left the straight electrode not the bent was was completely gone it burned away or something so i replaced them and it was all good and i will never use fuel injector cleaner again.

went to shop today the one that popped out the dude said crossed threaded not sure what he said he just showed me this black ring thing and slipped the plug in and put the plug back in the car. And the other plugs was getting loose too. Good thing he didnt have to take out the head though >
