side skirt install - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #15164 8 posts Started by jayi12-15psi
whats up guys, I've had some skirts for a while and finally have some money laying around to have them painted, but I was wondering if this is an easy instal I could do myself, and just have them painted. I test fitted the skirts, they seem to be pretty tight, the area I was having problems with was the area in the door jamb. does anyone have any type of tips or tricks to installing skirts, or should I just pay a professional? Thanks for your help

If you're skeptical, I would just have a professional do it.
I'd let someone else put them on. Doesn't sound like you know what your doing. >tongue.gif>
What type of skirts are they? Basically you need to fit them, and then glue and screw them to the car. Check out this forum:

I gave a how-to on putting on a kit as a whole, but the info is still good for just sideskirts. If you're putting on invader skirts, there's a top lip that lays on the bottom section of the door jam (at least mine did). I found that there was no way to put the plastic trim back on with that lip there. Is this the problem you're talking about in the door jam? If so, do like I did and cut off that lip and smooth the rest of the skirt into the door jam.
man.... i just drilled a hole through my sideskirts and car, and popped a screw in
i left that piece of the skirt on and i could fit my plastic piece on still?? just removed the clips in the middle of the plastic piece
thanks for the info guys
