how much did any of you pay for your GT alloys?

i'm not looking for aftermarket 17's/18's, they are way too expensive, and heavy. i'm looking for something better than hubcaps, that is fairly light on the wallet & the scale.

anyone know how much they weigh? the lighter the better, in my opinion.

im pretty sure they're heavy.... and i paid $200 for my GT rims with tires from a member...
Sinner, I am 100 miles from you and have a set of GT rims for sale. Cheap. PM me if you are interested. If you wait for a few weeks to pick them up, you can come down and I will take for you a ride in my 3sgte...smiles.

I got a quote on wheels for my 95 GT before i wrecked it (the salt is terrible around here, kills the wheels), and a whopping 365 dollars each is what it comes to. I said F that, quickly might i add

I got mine from a local member for $150. They needed 2 new tires.

you might drop by New Celicas and check the Buy/Sell forum. I picked up a set of 2000+ OEM GT alloys for around $250 shipped. I think they look better than the GT alloys.

I am not sure about the 6th gen alloys weight, but the 7th gens tip the scales at about 15lbs, iirc. Also of note is the fact tha they are a half an inch thinner (15X6.5 as opposed to the 15x7s) . That said, the stock steelies are 15x6.5 on the 6th gens, so it isn't going to cause any problems by going to the thiner wheel, and I would bet dollar to doughnuts that the 7th gens weight a few pounds less per corner.

I have a set of 4 also with new tires about 1000 miles on them...The rims are ok but there is some torn up areas because the person before me didnt know how to park..

Sweet vert Tressa. Also, the GT wheels are fairly heavy....you should try and get some 7th gen rims. GT or GTS, doesn't matter.

6th Gen GT wheels are approx 17 lbs. / There are 2 types of 6th gen alloys, the standard all one color aluminum ones, and the ones with polished face and outer rim with the sides of the spokes a darker color, Search google for Toyota wheels, there is a place with rebuilt ones for approx 165 each for the polished face ones, 6th or 7th gen lug nuts will work, but the 7th gen ones have a shorter hex part, they dont stick all the way out of the lug nut hole to the surface of the 6th gen wheel,
as for looks i'd say go with 7gen gts wheels, i want to get some, but i have no money, lol.
one of my rims cracked and was leaking air , I replaced it at the dealership for a whopping 300 plus for one freaking wheel
you may be better off getting a new set of 17's with tires
or some 15's at NTB for $100 a wheel
used rims maybe...... WILL BE scratched and dented , but some body shops can fix em like new but again its gonna cost.
I got 2001 GT-S Rims for $300 with Toyo Proxies (TS-1's)on em. Wore out my Toyos and now run Pirelli P7000's.

Yeah 7th gen GTs tires are 16" and look pretty good on a 6th gen. Usually can find them cheap, less than $300 U.S. Try finding a local celica (7th gen) forum in your area, that's how I found mine. Last week just picked up a GTS rim and tire for $30 U.S. to use as a spare
