picking gauges - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #13678 17 posts Started by orvillescelica
Well, my plans for turbo will need to be put on hold once again since i just cranked out the numbers and the added costs of fuel, oil as well as the strain on the engine is too great with a turbo now that i might have to make the 3 day drive to and from Seattle to Chicago every 4 months or so.

But then there leaves me with the problem of a lotek three gauge pod sitting here next to my tv saying "Shut off the TV and put me in!!"

So what are the best three gauges i can get for my car having an NA engine. I was thinking some sort of coolant or water temp as driving from Seattle to Chicago means running the car for 12-14 hours at a time. Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Its Orville's Celica, i just drive it...

Halogen Fluid meter is a must, but Procarpats has a blinker fluid/headlight fluid mix for those without alot of room. $40 shipped.

i didn't believe..just wanted to know what you guys were talking about cause i was like wtf?
lol, i got it when i saw it the first time
haha that makes me laugh, actually Ive been asking the same question to myself.
on a more serious note, oil pressure/air fuel/exhaust temp/water temp/ ect.
I'd do oil & coolant temp guages, plus a A/F ratio guage.
Im thinking about adding 3 gauges as well this is what im going for,

An oil pressure gauge, give's u a good idea how healthy ur engine is

An oil temp gauge, as it tells u when its safe to start giving the car some right foot action as we have all seen the adverts saying most engine wear is caused when the oil isnt up to temp..

A Vacuum gauge because it moves around a bit and can help u save fuel when ur low on funds (have u seen the price of petrol in the uk >mad.gif> ) lol

Thats my 2p's worth

My Celica Pictures
i just found probably the best guage for those of us with rims. an AIR PRESSURE GUAGE for each tire. it is ONE guage but displays 4 tire pressures. i like this idea
