Omg, first off, I am so proud of myself >smile.gif> and I think I should be, it took me all day to wire the monitor, powerbook under the seat and the various pariphenials (like AC/DC inverter). I'll post more picts up later; but for now.. here's two shots (Second one's for you Latin >smile.gif>

Next week I should have it custom fiberglassed into the dash.. for now it's just kinda hanging out >smile.gif> Secure.. mostly.. but hanging out.

Tell me what you think!
Fantastic man:)
What brand is the monitor???
Looks nice shid.. but aren't you stressed about people jacking it? It's kinda a easy pull...

Yes, it's an easy as hell pull- thats why next week it's being fiberglassed, and this week I'm not driving many places.. and the places I do drive- like work for 8 hours, I'm disconnecting it and taking it out (it's an easy disconnect lol)
looks amazing man, good work. by the way what wattage power inverter did u use and do u plan on hookin anything else to it.

All I have in this world is my Balls and my Word and I'm not breaking em for no one,- Tony MontanaTeam 6gc 2005
It's a 400W inverter, hooked up is the powerbook, monitor, SNES, Ps2 right now...so.. a bit >smile.gif> But not too much. I'll look up the power ratings on all that stuff later, but the largest is the powerbook at 65W, so I doubt I'm breaking 175 even.

Later, when everything becomes more permanent, the PS2 goes out and just gets to be an SNES and an N64

This thursday I'm having my friend run copilot with a video camera as we take a canyon road with a coupel of other people- I might have the camera running off the car, or might not (battery), but I will definetly have it hooked into the monitor.
Looks great Shid.

QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.
How much was the screen??? How much did it cost all together and what parts did you use???
Around 950 all together
Parts? err Powerbook G4 550 (which might be dead.. more later on that guys) 375$
Xenarc 700TSV 430$
Victor 400W DC/AV Inverter 40$
Lines, mounting supplies, parts, etc 100$
Wow shid. Thats amazing. Looks really good. For some reason I used to think you were a girl. (Guess I was thinking it was a pic of you in ur avatar lol.) >tongue.gif> Great work.
the 7" monitor looks a little big for the space, when you were buying did you see any 6" monitors or so that would fit better into that space?

edit: btw, really cool setup, when i hit the lotto ima do something like that >tongue.gif>

Nice set up man, that 7" monitor picture is great. Looks good in the dash to. Question for you though, where did you get the interior pieces to hook up your cd player down by the stick? Or is that a custom job? That looks damn good for the interior.

Ace, it's a custom job using parts from Home Depot- woo woo! It's pretty touch and go, at first it was tilted in horribly, but I openedit back up and did some readjusting of the bolts, and now it's almost perfect. There are picts here: (HERE!) but they are of the way tilted in setup. To fix the problem, I moved the screw to the hole in the rail furthest towards the edge, and on the other side changed which hole on the headunit the rail screwed into. More picts of the new (flush) setup later- dealing with troubleshooting problems now (noise in audio system, the powerbook I had hooked up died a mysterious death).

As for 6 inch vs 7 th- the 7 inch is big for the 2 din spot; I need to cut away material before I fiberglass it in. A 6 inch would work better, but there are very few quality 6 inch screens out there. You could buy a namebrand double din touchscreen from Panasonic for 1600$.... but I decided not to. Xenarc will soon be a name brand anyway; and much cheaper and just as good of quality.
Damn shid, i must say.....that looks awesome! Great job! >biggrin.gif>
