mono amps means one chanel rite?....i have the amp above, i believe its made by viper audio. well anyways it has 2 channels to it and i was told i wasnt to bridge it because it bridges itself internally also said in the manual. so i running 2 12's (crossfire db's) one into each channel. i was wondering if i can run both into one channel and maybe get a lil more power. its rated at 200rms x 1 at 4 ohms and 300rms x 1 at 2 ohms. the subs are SVC at 4ohms. well thats it for now thanks!!

mono block help anybody??
are you sure thats the amp you have? Because being a mono apm, it should only have one channel.
I have a question VERY related to this too. I have a mono amp as well- an RF 6001bd. It's rated at 300x1 @ 4 ohms- but it has two channel outs!!! Thats right, a + - terminal for each speaker (4 total). It says they're wired in parrelel internally. It's also rated at 600x1@2ohms.

I've got 2 JL 10W3v2 D-4s (4 ohm) subs hooked up to each, not bridged or anything.

So, is each sub out getting 300? or 150? (my amp is actually factory rated at 329...)
both of you are running your subs at 2 ohms. the 2 "channels" are internally paralleled so you only have 1 true channel (it will always send the same signal to both outputs). if you run both subs on the same terminal then there would be no difference in output.
I'm not running at 2 ohms- I KNOW I'm not running at 2 ohms, because the manual tells me to wire each channel output at 4 ohms minimum... so how much power is going to each channel?
2x 4Ohm woofers in parallel equals 2 Ohm >smile.gif>

So you are running each "output" at 4 ohm, but they are bridged internally to generate a 2 ohm channel.

How much watt you are pushing all depends on how the manual describes the wattage. If the values gives are per output then you are running 4 ohm, meaning 300 watt. If the manual is refering to the load on the channel (2x 4 ohm in par. = 2 ohm) then you are pushing 600 watt ....
