The price for a 97-99 celica GT is right. I like the look of the body, and the fact that theres an aftermarket for the car. However, its pretty slow. 0-60 in 8.5 seconds isn't exactly heart pounding >>

For about $3-4000 is there anyway to get it to around 200 horsepower? If you had $3500 to spend, and wanted to get this car to run mid 14s in the 1/4 mile, what would you do?

I would buy the celica. I do wish it had more power but the styling and handling are like nothing else in the sport compact genre. Well prolly the easiest way to get horsepower is to get the engine swap. The talked about 3s-gte. For like $4000 you could prolly get most of the swap in order and that would get you more than 200 horsespower. Depending on which 3s you get. You could of course get pullys, ignition and exhaust etc etc to get the 200 horses. But the engine swap is the easiest and most straightforward. That's cool you can afford to spend that much, if you have that much money to get the celi fast then the celica is the way to go. Looks and speed. Yea Yea.

if you could afford 3.5 to 4 Gs on top of buying the celica... id just buy something else... saves the hastle, no doubt the car looks awsome and handles very nicely, its just alot of work to make the car streightline fast...

buy it and do an engine swap.

damn wish i could find a 97-99 for 4K the only 97 GT i can find here is going for 10K, cant even find a 94-95 for sale it sucks. i would buy it.
