You know under completed swaps we should have replies in this order;

3sgte engine type (2nd gen, 3rd gen, etc)

PICS

Total Cost

and of course PAIN IN THE ASS FACTOR (1 to 10) hehe
looks good man! did ya get the bugs out yet? hows she feel?

I got an engine, not a clip. No I havnt worked out the bugs, I still get throttle cut pretty low in the RPM band. Mike (qatar) is sending me a connecter for the ignitor. I, how ever, dont think it is, and will be my only problem.

on the good side, mike worked his magic and the a/c still works. And even with it cutting pretty low, its still decently fast.
thats cool, man...where u get the engine from? what did it come with?
glad to hear the A/C is still working, hope that you get her runnin up to snuff soon!!
keep us all updated!! >biggrin.gif>

hey chrobis if you need a 3s igniter/ignition coil i have um layin here that i can send you.
how long untill you get a FMIC?

because with out a hood scoop, that stock top mount will heat soak really quickly.

other than that, good job and have fun

I know about the heat soak, and no i dont have a scoop, maybe ill get one, maybe i wont. Might be awhile until I can get a FMIC, funds are a bit tapped out. And with a FMIC there is more turbo lag.
And with a FMIC there is more turbo lag

not really.ive just changed my water to air intercoller yo an fmic and theres no noticeable increase in lag

Chrobis where in San Jose are you again? I need to race another swap celica to see how bad mine's really running, haha. I'm doing about 10.5-11:1 air fuel ratio right now under boost so it's running pretty $hitty.

Man...2nd gen vs 3rd gen right in san jose. That woulda been good.... IF I hadn't been ****ing with the car this afternoon, boosted hard a few times in a row and then heard something pop, followed by a big cloud of smoke out the back.

Still runs, stills seems to boost, but it feels a big laggier.. Will do a compression test tomorrow morning to see if the block is fine. If I blew a ring, it's getting parted out. I spent $2k on a block rebuild already and this car is going in the trash if it's blown again. Especially considering I've been running it super rich so there's no need of this. I"m not even boosting past stock. Hopefully it's just the turbo.

hopefully the turbo... geez turbo's are not cheap... well I guess a toyota turbo on ebay wouldnt be too much if you could find one.

I still want to see your car.
I'll have to clean it up first :-P

haha now that i think about it, this car has NOTHING going for it right now. the body is in **** condition, the paint is chipping, and i'm about 90% sure i blew my turbo oil seals yesterday. haha

Where are you at during the day? I work on Hamilton Ave from about 10 to 7-8 or so.
