I am drifting away...I'm selling it - 6G Celicas Forums

I just saw a awesome Xterra the other day...and now I want one. I'm selling my car and I'm getting an Xterra....do you guys think I am making a wise decision or a bad one? I need more room,I'm going to college.
it's whatever you like. If your driving alot consider mpg and saftey but other than that, go for what you want.
Take it from someone who knows, room is not an issue. First of all, more room means more people that want to pile into your car and you will always be expected to drive. Second, I packed all my from my dorm room and fit it ALL in the Celica. Then I drove 1000 miles (16 hours) to Chicago from Boston, so room isn't an issue. Third, your insurance is going to kick your A** cause you're 18 with a SUV. This all sounds like too much trouble to me. I'd stick with the Celica.

i went to college and bought a car with less room... guess it is just what you are going to use it for...

Believer, you'll leave her, in leaving them allNo but I don't buy itLike anything you do, as anyone you areCause I'm...Ten Speed, of God's Blood & Burial
Room for what? The initial move?

My first 2 yrs in college you werent allowed a parking space. PPL still had cars, but only a few. And then if they did, they were always being asked to drive somewhere. I am glad i didnt have the car at school.

Everything fits fine in my car. If I didn't have my bass/amp up here, I could move out my entire dorm in one trip. The celi easily holds 2 extra passengers, but 3 is a stretch, which means you don't always have to drive around everyone. Also, parking can be somewhat of a pain here at UT, so I like having a car.

Yeah, everyone is right. I had my celi all through college, was able to fit everything in it when i drove from chicago to LA for an intership, and everything fit in it again when i moved to Seattle for grad school. Space is not an issue, youll learn to live with little anyway. One of my roomates had a tiburon and upgraded to an SUV, suddenly he was driving everyone everywhere and he hated it.

But if you want the xtera, you should get what you want. I think its one of the better looking SUVs out there. You will be better off doing what you think is right rather then relying on our opinon.

Its Orville's Celica, i just drive it...
kinda impulsive

you saw one? or did you go to a dealer and test drive it

how much you thinking about selling your car for??? >biggrin.gif>
Thanks guys...I wasn't really trying to get any ideas from you guys, just opinions. Thanks again. I guess when I say room,I just mean....I enjoy having a big car with space. I am actually not even moving away for college. I just like having a bigger car, being able to see the road better, stuff like that.

I'm asking A LOT for it. I know it's kind of high, but I am hoping. I've put well over 3,000 into it,the blue book is 6,300. I'm selling it for 9,500. I'm better off shooting high, then shooting the price low when I could have sold it for more. Doesn't hurt to advertise it this high for now.
a guy at my job has a yellow X... and it's already had 3 recalls on it.. just something to think about.. the last one i thing what the wheels and tires..

Dude, Don't. You will miss it. I missed driving my old car after I totaled it. I hated driving the truck cause I couldn't do the things in it that I used to in the celi. Plus people are right insurence will go up, your going to be paying on it unless you have a serious cash flow, and you can haul alot of stuff in our car as it is. But don't, plus you won't get what your asking for it, the only way that you could get that is if you had a brand new paint job and a new motor. Thats the only way that you could get that much for it. Hell keep it and get something else also.
