repairing clearcoat - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #10321 10 posts Started by brianforster
ok so oon the passenger rear right above the wheel well, theres a decent chunk of clearcoat that is crackling and bubbling, and a bit of acid rain corrosion on the roof behidn the sunroof, does anyone know how much this is usually to repair?
If your kinda handy I suggest fixing it yourself, sand the areas, tape off about 4 times the size of the area you sanded... prime, paint (feather it in), clear coat, DONE!

Total Cost: $30 or less.
the most body work I have ever done was painting the molding on my neon to match the car ( was grey I painted it red) it didnt look too bad but it didnt match the rest of the car perfectly.

I dont know If I should trust myself with this project
My hood did that and my painter said that the hood had to be stripped and repainted. So I am just having the whole car repainted si blue.

Basically what I would do is search for the paint color for your car, than try and find one that is slightly darker than the one called for your car to compensate for paint age.

One other problem with paint age is that the clear coat tends to get a bit yellowish which sucks ass... mine as well paint the whole car at that point.
