Ok so I havent seen pictures of my soon to be celi but the guy said there is a dent on the door and it would cost about 300 dollars to fix.

Im going to see it tomorrow, but I would like to know if any of you have any idea what size a 300 dollar dent might be just to ease my mind >smile.gif>

how big was the diameter of the dent do you think
fixing the dent is cheap....its the labour and repainting that costs alot...

i have a dent about the size of a penny.... i got quoted $350 to fix
not a door dent... but I have a tiny bump on my hood from where the battery clamp pushed up the hood a lil, and they quoted me 250, like seriously I dint know it was bumped up till they told me I thought they just had to patch the paint
like everyone else above said, its the labor that kills ya,...my dent was like a 6" circle...

have him reduce the price by 300.

You are getting the car at a very low price. Just make sure that the engine is ok. And dont worry about the dent. It may be nothing. You may not want to fix it after you see it.

My 2 cents. They are telling you $300 but nomatter how large is the dent i do not think it costs more than $100 for them to fix it. They just want to pressure you to let them fix it and get some more profit. Ask around before you fix anyhting.

In my country, they usually charge according to the pieces painted. So a dint in the door means that the whole door must be repainted but it is considered one piece. The painters usually charge the hassle to go buy the paint and the effort to clean their equipment afterwards.

And just to let you know that i know what i am talking about, my GT4 was a tipped over car. I had to cut off the rrof and reweld another roof and paint the whole car again. The whole thing lasted 8 months and about $4k. The actual work was 4 days of repairs and 2-3 days for paint. My uncle is a dealer and you cannot believe the things he fixes up and they end up looking like new.
isnt it crazy neo?
i walked into the body shop monday, there was a 'rolla SMASHED in the rear HARD, basicly there was no trunk left. lol
tuesday i walk in and the car is cut basicly in half, and theyre welding a rear half on the car, it was SICK...lol >biggrin.gif>
