This is what I heard from toysports reguarding the 3sgte swamp.

can be done
budget at leat $4500 in parts including transmission conversion
itr will be 4WD
will pass a smog test but not a visual inspection
engine is sold as an off road part only

What is visual inspection?

Probably it means that if they look at it, they will see it is a 3s-gte.

Why wont it pass visual inspection when the all trac's had a 3sgte in it also?

Ok people. This is where you open up the ricer handbook and mess with your inspection people. Put a big HKS banner on your car, and a small sticker under the hood. Tell your inspection people it's an aftermarket HKS turbo kit you got used. Ha, it's worth a try I guess...

First thing's first. As far as they have told me in e-mails, you will get the AWD transmission but not the rear end parts.

Secondly: Don't worry about smog testing or visual inspection unless you live in California
