You can see how hot it was. Look at my boost gauge its floating around 11-12 psi. It should be at 14-15 psi.

I would say 600-800 wet sand, use clean water. Then rinse them with clean water let them dry and paint them.
Manny is right, the more prep work you do the better the paint will come out.
