Ive never used spring compressors on 6gc's either... even with the stock springs you can push them down by hand and unscrew the top nut.

Ended up being a crack on the plastic part of the spark plug wire and it was sparking inside the spark plug tube and not the spark plug

Have a seperate fuse and relay for them and tap off the sidemarkers...if not you can melt wires. I actually melted some at the fuse box and it never blew a fuse...dangerous.
