lol...they are called butt conectors..if you are going to use those i would also suggest to get some shrink tubing to put over it to help seal it from water and everythign else that might get in there...

if you look at it it actually does have the littl "wings" on the side that flip up....i think the only real difference other than it being thinner is that it wouldn't go all the way back to the fender...

lexan is a great material...i use it for a bunch of projects i do for random stuff...extremely strong and nearly unbreakable...i dunno how the defroster would work on it though...that might be tricky....
