It isn't a problem for me. The only problem I have is pulling the e-brake up when I am stopped but that is not a problem. Is it in the way when you shift?? How if it is all the way down?

2.) Get a wheel brush and some of that foam stuff that you spray on. I use Black Magic Wheel Wipes and they work wonders,but I don't know how much grime you're talking about here. Hope I helped
