Check to see if you have spark in each cylinders and see if there's any oil leaks into the distributor cap (gasket issue). Most likely will have to remove and install the whole thing. Roughly $30-$150...

For your safety sake, get a crash bar. (are you talking about not having it with the 96 bumper or not having it on the car itself?) Otherwise you just might have to drill holes into your front bumper....
