thanks guys i will remove the gauges to see if the tach is sticking and then i will see if the tps is calibrated correctly and if all else fails i will try to adjust it.

touch a scrwdriver from the starter solenoid to the postive line wire on the starter it will rule out the relay. if not it's prob your starter that is fried.
