Topic #38596 15 posts Started by axelrduvirage
just a thought. if i repaint the car, i may as well tidy up the engine bay. Right? is there an easy way to really clean things up without pulling the engine? wink.gif

shampoos, steam cleaners, solvents. what have you used and how well did it work?

peace
i'd like to know about this too. my engine bay looks like ish. the least i can do to my weak lil 7a is to make it look good. what's the easiest way?

edit: damn, those before and after pics are crazy. i gotta get me some of that stuff.

what if the water hose sprays up some electrical components like.....alt, battery, harnesses, etc etc...???..cover those part up too?.....
thanks for the tips.

i was going to remove intake box, battery, alternator and cover/plug everything up. thanks for the heads-up on the plugs. didn't think they would be a problem.

what about GUNK? all agree that it works as well as anything else? is there something better (i.e. more$$$)?

yea that stuff works wonders, and u dont have to remove the batt and all, jus cover with plastic bags
cover anything thats electrical, alternator, starter, plugs, intake filter, and any exposed wires to be on safe side
here is a hint if you do get water in your spark plugs wells or whatever you call them just take a squirt bottle top off of any spray bottle and stick the pipe down in the well and it will pull all the water out try not to get any in there though. also you want to use degreaser and a hose. and little scrub brushes. tooth brushes for the hard to reach spots. i used power purple or something like that.

I've heard not to spray the block while its hot because it is possible to crack the block, and Ive heard this from quite a few people. Have any of you heard this before?
