i cant take off the whole intake (dont ask), all i can do is change the filter. should i just throw in a kn rectangle filter or a cone filter. also, what size rectangle filter do i need and will i need any adaptors if i get the cone filter?
theres very minimal difference (1/2 - 1hp) between cone and regular airbox filters, its really upto u and ur budget.

im sorry i did not word it right. i CAN remove it, but i am not allowed to as of right now (dad a bit too careful about this stuff, gets annoying because its very easy to do) im thinking of just using the rectangular kn filter because a cone filter on stock intake will look very stupid imo. anyway, anyone know the correct size rectangular filter i will need?
just go to napa and be like, word dude hook a brother up with a k&n for my 97 st , lol
what would the performance difference be with a short ram intake with kn filter rather than a drop in kn filter? the intakes on ebay have the filter a little closer to the engine bay and heat and i was wondering what would be better.
well i rather u go for air intake but some people say it mess up the engine bc it bring hot air in ur engine..i dont rmember where i saw it at but it in a forum i 4got...but hmm its up to u...if u want nice then go with the air intake...if u dont car then go with the drop in filter..all up to u..
so there is no performance difference? only looks?

hmm, it looks better than i imagined. what did you use to secure the hose, if anytyhing? i know an adaptor is needed for 94-96, but i have a 97 and i was wondering if i needed an adaptor also to attach a cone filter with 3" hole, i havent really taken a good look at my intake.
